Multiple Reformations? The Heidelberg-Notre Dame Dialogues on the Legacies of the Reformation

Location: Rome Global Gateway

March 6 - 9, 2016

This is the first of four conferences co-hosted by the University of Notre Dame and the University of Heidelberg. The full session will cover multiple themes in the theological legacy of the Reformation, in recognition of the 500th anniversary of the beginning of the Reformation in 1517. This conference will build ties between one of the most prominent Catholic theology faculties in the United States and one of the most prominent Protestant faculties in Europe, which not only enhances Notre Dame's internationalization but will make ecumenical scholarship and dialogue more front and center at both institutions. Such cooperation will also make a powerful contribution to ecumenical scholarship in general, helping it to emerge from what Cardinal Walter Kasper has called its "hibernation period."
