Religion and Responses to Migrants and Refugees in Europe: The Catholic Church in Comparative Perspective

Location: Rome Global Gateway

October 13 - 14, 2017

The Rome Global Gateway will host an opening research workshop (a meeting of the core research team and collaborators from European based institutions) that will serve to plan the pilot study in Italy as part of a larger study. The outputs of this project will include a major book and related academic articles in leading political science, sociology of religion, and theology journals. The organizers are also planning to develop working papers and reports that may be of special interest to policymakers and religious leaders seeking to address the immediate needs of refugees and migrants, as well as the concerns of citizens in receiving societies.
