Transpositions: Translation, Migration, Music - An academic conference

This conference, subtitled "Toward New Euro-Mediterranean Francophonies," will bring together scholars from Europe and the United States who are members of an international research group devoted to new forms of expression in French, from written works to musical compositions. The literary critics and musicologists who make up this group will share their work a special symposium at the University of Notre Dame Global Gateway in Rome in June 2018 to examine how elements from other cultures, from languages to soundscapes, are transposed into French, and are effectively transposing French, in the present, thanks to migration.
