Jo Byrne was appointed as Communications Specialist in 2018. In this role she focuses on identifying, developing and writing stories that showcase the activity of the London Global Gateway. She works closely with the wider communications team to find strategic ways to create and present content. Byrne is also responsible for the marketing of events, managing social media accounts and building campaigns to promote wider engagement with the Gateway.
Prior to this role, Byrne worked as the Conference and Event Liaison at the Gateway, working on all logistical aspects of internal and external events. In her most recent role before Notre Dame, she worked as an Event Manager for Amnesty International.
Byrne earned a BA in French and English Literature from the University of Manchester. She enjoys writing, and regularly contributes her work to various publications. She is always exploring new places, having lived in four different countries over the last decade. She recently returned from a three year stint in Australia and is slowly reaclimatizing to the British weather!
