Director of Student Affairs
Josh Copeland is the Director of Student Affairs at the London Global Gateway. Together with the staff in the residence hall, he is primarily responsible for the pastoral and formative care of our study abroad students, working collaboratively with this team to enhance their time in London by developing a series of programs meant to assist them in delving beneath the surface of the culture in which they live and study. In his role, he also assumes responsibility for health and safety of our student cohort while in London. Additionally, he works closely with colleagues on the student internship program. In collaboration with approximately 30 different corporations, schools, charities and other organizations, this program affords students an opportunity for a deeper immersive experience by working regularly with one of our partners throughout the semester.
Previously, Copeland was the Director of Student Affairs and Operations in London for the Minerva Schools at KGI. Prior to that, he worked at Oxford University and also served as a Rector for four years in Conway Hall, Notre Dame’s student residence in London.
Originally from Tennessee, Copeland spent a decade as a professional opera singer and teacher before embarking on a career in university administration after moving to the UK in 2011. He continues his singing and teaching whenever the opportunity arises, and enjoys exploring the English countryside around London with his wife and twin boys.
