Regan Jones

Senior Director for Global Operations

Regan Jones was appointed senior director for global operations in October 2022. As a member of the University’s global leadership team, he collaborates with a broad set of constituents to lead Notre Dame’s operations globally—advising University executive leadership on enterprise-wide activity and operations in foreign jurisdictions. This includes oversight of compliance, communications, technology (systems & services), safety & security, facilities & general business operations, processes, and change management of worldwide activities, including 13 facilities in 11 countries. Additionally, as an assistant teaching professor in the ESTEEM graduate program, he teaches a leadership course at the University’s IDEA Center.

Before this appointment, Jones served within the Office of the Provost in several capacities, including founding director for military and veterans affairs, interim director for Notre Dame futures group, winter session lead, and senior manager for multidisciplinary initiatives. In these roles, he was responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives. Jones came to Notre Dame in 2014 as an assistant professor of naval science with a secondary appointment in the First Year of Studies. Before joining the University, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps, living and working overseas, managing the operations for large multi-site and level organizations, leading multi-million dollar projects, and working closely with international partners to achieve mutual goals. As a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Marine Corps Reserves, Jones works with academic and start-up communities to solve national security problems in new ways.

Regan, his wife, Mary, and their three children enjoy volunteering in the local community. He serves on the Board of Directors for the YMCA of Greater Michiana and coaches his children’s youth sports team.

A former Division I athlete, Jones holds an undergraduate degree in political science from the University at Albany, an M.B.A. from Florida State University, and is a graduate of the President George W. Bush Institute Leadership Program.
