Sarah Heiman

Student Life Program Director

Jerusalem

Sarah Heiman was appointed the Student Life Program Director for the University of Notre Dame at Tantur in July 2019. Working collaboratively with the rest of the team at Tantur, Heiman is primarily responsible for the pastoral and formative care of our study abroad students while they live and study in Jerusalem. In this role she also assumes responsibility for the health and safety of our student cohort, overseeing mental health support, community standards, and the residential experience of our students.

From 2014-2019, Heiman worked on the University of Notre Dame’s main campus as Rector of Lyons Hall and additionally supported student life more broadly through her work with retreats, as a spiritual director, and as an academic advisor for first-year students. Prior to Notre Dame she worked in retreat and campus ministry and as an adjunct instructor of theology and religious studies at Sacred Heart University and Mercy Center.

Heiman holds both a BA in Religious Studies and a Master of Divinity degree from Yale University.
