Assistant Director, Study Abroad
My role: I manage the London Undergraduate Program, and the London Summer, Berlin Summer and Russia Summer programs.
Why I find my work important: My study abroad in Austria changed my life and I want to help students have a similar impact. I love my job because I get to work in the field of international education and work with students.
Professional background: I have a master’s degree from Ball State University in anthropology and a master’s degree from Central European University in nationalism. I am originally from Romania and immigrated to the States with my family as a young child. I am fluent in Hungarian and have traveled across Europe throughout my childhood. I was born in a small village in Transylvania and have also conducted research for my master’s thesis in Romania. My father always told me that the moment you become smart is the moment you realize you know nothing at all. I hope to never stop learning.
My favorite place: My two (I can't be expected to pick one) favorite places are the seaside of Croatia and the mountains of Transylvania. The blue seaside, white beaches, and quaint medieval cities in Croatia are stunning, and the Transylvanian mountains are pure, where you can see every single star. These are both important parts of the world for me. There are so many amazing places in the world that it’s hard to narrow it down to a few.
