Zana Karabatak

Zana Karabatak serves the inbound international student community here at Notre Dame. She advises on US immigration regulations as they pertain to F and J visa categories. In addition to student advisement, she liaises with several graduate programs and university entities to collaborate and enhance the international student experience.

Prior to joining Notre Dame, Zana was an international student advisor at New York University. Before beginning her career in international student services, she taught English both in the US and abroad. She received her BA in Linguistics from The Ohio State University and her MA in International Education from New York University.

Zana identifies as Arab-American and was raised in Dayton, Ohio. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors and indulging in good coffee. An avid reader, Her favorite books are "Walden" by Henry David Thoreau, and "The Forty Rules of Love" by Elif Shafak.
