Paying the Piper: The Economies of Amateur Performance

On June 28 and 29, 2014, a conference entitled Paying the Piper: Economies of Amateur Performance will take place at the London Global Gateway.  It is inspired by the Pic Nic Society, an early nineteenth century amateur dramatic society in England, and will showcase two projects related to the society by RAPPT, an "international interdisciplinary network of researchers working on amateur performance and private theatricals" (rappt.org).
