The Beijing Forum, organized by Peking University, has for the second year in a row invited Notre Dame faculty to participate in a panel session. Joining eight Chinese philosophers on the panel will be nine philosophers from North American and European universities, three of whom are from Notre Dame: Profs. Richard Cross, Christopher Shields, and Therese Cory. The panel, titled "Reason and Emotion in Philosophy: Tradition, Reality, and Future,” will explore relations between reason and emotion in ancient and medieval philosophers.
This internationally renowned academic meeting has a 2014 theme of "China and the World: Tradition, Reality and Future," and hosted Notre Dame economics faculty in 2013.
