800th Anniversary of the 4th Lateran Council

This conference addresses the Fourth Lateran or Twelfth Ecumenical Council of the Church, convened in Rome November 11-30, 1215, by Innocent III, one of the most  influential popes of the Middle Ages. The conference will assemble a large group of leading scholars from Europe and North America to examine the implementation, diffusion, and impact of the Council's canons throughout Western Christendom in what promises to be a crucial exploration of the state of the question that will set research agendas for the next decade.
