Sant'Egidio in Africa Presents "The DREAM Programme in Malawi"

The book is the result of a field study lasting three years (2009-2011) at the DREAM Centre in Blantyre, Malawi's second city, a place where today are treated thousands of people coming from all the areas of the town. This case study allowed me to observe a variety of elements connected with the health treatment proposed by DREAM which can produce important socio-economic outcomes. They are at the base root of an activation mechanism (Scitovsky, 2007) or a "propensity to be subjectively active in the development process"(Sen, 1999) at a micro and macro level.
