The Cushwa Center and its collaborators in Rome will celebrate the publication of Matteo Binasco's book, Roman Sources for the History of American Catholicism 1763–1939 (Notre Dame Press, spring 2018).

2018 05 24 Binasco Book Launch

Dr. Binasco researched and authored Roman Sources during his tenure as the Cushwa Center's postdoctoral fellow in Rome from 2014 to 2017. The volume profiles the organization and relevant collections in 59 archives and libraries in Rome, and will provide researchers from the United States and elsewhere an overview of the rich resources available in Roman repositories for American Catholic history.

Irene Fosi (Università G. D'Annunzio, Chieti-Pescara) and Maurice Whitehead (Collegio Inglese, Roma) will serve as commentators at this book launch. They will each offer remarks on the text and its significance for transnational research in American Catholic history and related fields.

The panel discussion and a reception to follow are free and open to the public.
