Illuminating Judaism: A Personal Artistic Journey

David Moss

David Moss

David began his career with a love of Hebrew calligraphy. He is responsible for the revival of the hand-made illuminated Hebrew marriage contract, created an important Haggadah and is a partner in the Tree of Life Shtender—a sculptural prayer/study stand. Whether creating books, prints, ritual objects, educational programs, or communal buildings, David synthesizes text and tradition with the spark of creativity and meticulous craftsmanship. He co-founded Kol HaOt, which harnesses the power of the arts for Jewish inspiration, leads The Teachers Institute for the Arts, which brings his educational vision into day schools and produces an ongoing series of limited editions works for a group of private and institutional subscribers.

Transportation will be provided on Shivtei Israel St. 1 (on the western side of the Notre Dame Center opposite the New Gate of the Old City). The bus will leave at 6:30pm and return at 9pm. Please RSVP at rmallek@tantur.org.

Tuesdays at Tantur is a weekly event that seeks to establish a community of conversation. Co-hosted by the Tantur Ecumenical Institute and Jerusalem Global Gateway  of the University of Notre Dame, the series nurtures open discussion on theological and other topics relevant to the life of Jerusalem and the Holy Land.
