The theater of the ancient Greeks and Romans has been the object of fascination for many scholars throughout time. While only a small percentage of the plethora of work produced exists in what is considered complete form, the extant plays of Greek and Roman drama, are regularly retranslated and reproduced for contemporary audiences. However, in recent years scholarship has also started to engage with productions that are considered incomplete and have often been ignored. This resurgence in the academic sphere has also been reflected in the creative arts with fragmentary classical theater inspiring new works.
