Fulbright Program Opportunities

Global Scholar Award

The Fulbright Global Scholar Award allows US academics and professionals to engage in multi country projects. U.S. scholars can propose research or combined teaching/research activity in two to three countries with a flexible schedule. Trips can be conducted within one academic year or spread over two consecutive years.

Application deadline for the 2024-2025 academic year is September 15, 2023, 11:59 pm PST.

Public Policy Fellowship

The Fulbright Public Policy Fellowship allows U.S. early and mid-career professionals and practitioners to have a placement in a foreign government ministry or institution around the world. It also includes an independent research component that focuses on an issue related to the Fellow's host country work. Competitive candidates must have a minimum of three to five years of full-time work experience.

Distinguished Scholar Awards

The Fulbright Distinguished Scholar Awards are the most prestigious of the U.S. Scholar awards. The portfolio currently offers 49 awards. While there may be differences in eligibility between awards, overall these awards are open to scholars who have more than 7 years experience in their discipline or field.

International Education Administrators Awards

The Fulbright International Education Administrators Awards allow U.S. international education professionals an opportunity to participate in a 2-week intensive seminar designed to forge connections with their counterparts and higher education systems in hosting countries, while simultaneously developing an important network of relationships with fellow U.S. participants.
