The Greater China Scholars Program, designed to promote leadership and service, is the University of Notre Dame’s premiere merit Scholars Program for international undergraduate students. The Greater China Scholars Program has received generous support from the Li Ka Shing Foundation, the HS Chau Foundation, and numerous alumni, parents and friends.  The program includes the following components:

  • Scholarship Funding
  • Awards for Summer Enrichment: Service and Leadership
  • Outward Bound Experience
  • Ethical Leadership Course
  • Faculty and Peer Mentorship Program
  • Enrichment & Community-building Programming

The Greater China Scholars Program currently includes 44 enrolled students from Greater China. All selected Scholars receive Summer Enrichment Awards and are invited to participate in a program-funded Outward Bound Experience. The Scholars also gain access to an Ethical Leadership Course, Mentorship Programs, and other enrichment and community-building programming that are specially designed for Greater China Scholars and other merit Scholars at the University of Notre Dame. As a finalist invited to participate in the Greater China Scholars Weekend, you will also be considered for scholarship funding to help cover the cost of attending the University of Notre Dame.

To be eligible, applicants must apply to the University of Notre Dame by the application deadline, and currently be citizens of or residents in China, Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan. No further application to the scholarship program is needed.

The successful scholarship applicants will demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, a strong commitment to the betterment of society, and a promising capacity for global leadership.
