London Global Gateway Professor to Release New Book

Author: Emily Grassby

On September 1, 2015, Gill Gregory, professor of English literature at the London Global Gateway, will release her new book, The Studio: A Psychoanalytic Legacy.

The book, described as a poetic memoir, deals with past struggles through the exploration of art history and psychoanalysis.

“In researching collections of paintings on both sides of my family (works by John Constable, Paul Cezanne and Henri Gaudier-Brzeska and others, which are now held by the Tate) I began to explore my own past by way of my engagement with psychoanalytic ideas over many years.  In my work as a lecturer at The University of Notre Dame I am most grateful to past and present students and colleagues, whose interest and encouragement has been vital to the emergence of The Studio” said Gregory.

Gregory has published a range of poems, articles and books including The Sound of Turquoise (2009) and In Slow Woods (2011).
