Geraldine Meehan

Director of Faculty Engagement

As Director of Faculty Engagement, Geraldine Meehan is responsible for NDG’s international research grant programs for faculty and postdoctoral students. In addition to managing and overseeing these programs, Geraldine also leads a major effort in structuring the workflow for the characterization of conferences and research presentations taking place at Notre Dame’s global locations. In the past, she has also advised students in the Oxford Study Abroad Program, the Kennedy Scholars Research Seminar, as well as the London Undergraduate Program, NDG’s largest Study Abroad program.

Geraldine earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in psychology, from University College Dublin and earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Victoria in Canada. During the early years of her career, she worked as a researcher on large-scale EU projects at an Irish think tank, focused on public policy. Upon completion of her post-graduate education, she practiced for many years as a clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist in Ireland, Connecticut, Michigan, and eventually, in Indiana. In 2006, she transitioned to the field of international education, exercising her leadership both in international study abroad programs, as well as faculty research.
