On January 6, 2014, Notre Dame International will begin processing immigration requests for J-1 Exchange Visitors at the University of Notre Dame, including post-doctoral researchers, visiting faculty and other international experts. Notre Dame currently hosts approximately 400 international scholars each year.

“Our ability to attract the best researchers from around the world is key to Notre Dame’s mission of research excellence.  Notre Dame International not only looks forward to advising scholars on immigration matters, but also assisting them throughout their stay at the University,” says Rosemary Max, Director of International Student and Scholar Affairs (ISSA) at Notre Dame International.

Since 1969, ISSA, formerly known as International Student Services and Activities, has been recognized for the many ways it supports and cares for Notre Dame’s international students from the time they are accepted to graduation and beyond. Building on its long tradition of assisting students, ISSA also seeks to create a community of support for J-1 scholars beginning with The World on Tap, a monthly gathering starting Wednesday, February 5th, 2014, from 4 to 6 pm at Rohr’s at the Morris Inn.  This event is an opportunity for international graduate students and scholars to mingle.
