NDI Monitoring Information on MERS-CoV

Author: Amanda Skofstad

Notre Dame travelers have likely heard about cases of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) in both South Korea and China.  Notre Dame International (NDI) is monitoring this situation.

While we do not anticipate travel restrictions at this time, travelers should expect increases in passenger screening measures at international airports and plan for possible delays. The situation is still developing and we ask travelers to monitor events prior to departure and for the duration of their stay in the destination country.

The U.S. Embassy in Seoul, Korea, has issued this travel announcement.

NDI urges all international travelers to enroll in the Department of State’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive the latest travel updates and information.
