NDI strengthens travel risk management program with International SOS partnership

Notre Dame International has partnered with International SOS (ISOS), the world’s leading international medical and security assistance company, to help inform, advise, and assist University travelers before and during University-related trips abroad.

This fall, Notre Dame International is offering two webinars to encourage faculty and staff to familiarize themselves with the benefits and resources available through ISOS.

"Partnering with International SOS has been my number one priority since I took over the travel risk management program at Notre Dame in August 2018,” says Jaime Signoracci, director of international travel safety.

“We worked closely with our cross campus partners to ensure our traveling population’s needs were met with this decision and as a result we are now in-step with our peer institutions, who consistently rely on International SOS's services to inform of travel risks, assist in emergency situations and elevate medical and security support services to travelers.”

The virtual events for faculty and staff will be hosted on October 6 and November 10, and will be focused on ISOS membership benefits and services, how to get started with ISOS, and how ISOS can assist in emergency situations abroad.

"As a university committed to internationalization and engaged in a variety of initiatives and activities around the world, having this partnership with ISOS will enable our faculty and staff to operate globally with greater confidence as they do their research and work on behalf of Notre Dame,” says Michael Pippenger, vice president and associate provost for internationalization.

“It is our priority to keep our travelers abroad informed of changing environments that could impact their work and support them on University-related international travel. There is no doubt that this partnership strengthens our support to our travelers and travel risk management program overall.”

Due to the high incidence of COVID-19 infections and uneven access to vaccines around the world, University-related international travel must be approved in advance by a supervising vice president or dean and registered in the University’s travel registry system.
