Charlotte Parkyn

Director for Research and Partnerships

London

Charlotte Parkyn has been working at Notre Dame London since August 2009, and was appointed Director for Academic Engagement in July 2017. In this role, Parkyn works on creating opportunities and building relationships between Notre Dame and the UK academic institutions. She assists undergraduates with finding local academic opportunities outside of their selected classes, and mentors visiting grad and post-doctoral students.

While overseeing the London External Relations team, Parkyn investigates new ways to showcase/communicate Notre Dame's research, and works with visiting faculty members to engage with existing UK partners, as well as seeking out new collaborations. She also teaches a number of courses on the London Undergraduate Program.

Parkyn holds a PhD in Classics from King’s College London and specialises in Ancient Greek Theatre and Classical Reception Studies. She has worked as an academic consultant and dramaturg on a number of theatre productions around the UK, and plays an active role in promoting engagement with the ancient world to non-academic audiences.
