James Keating

Assistant Director, Study Abroad

With almost a decade of experience in higher education, James is a fervent advocate for student development and international education. As an undergraduate student, James lived abroad in Lima, Peru for a semester, where he studied regional human rights and played semi-professional basketball in his free time. James also has spent time in Bogotá as part of a field study examining U.S. foreign policy in Colombia. As a graduate student, James lobbied U.S. politicians on global poverty issues. Since then, James has traveled to multiple locations throughout China, became a successful candidate in the United Nations Young Professional Programme, and continues to seek out rewarding international experiences whenever possible. 

James holds an M.S. in political science from the University of Nebraska Omaha and a dual B.A. degree in political science and international studies from the University of Nebraska Kearney.
