Johanna Schuh

Assistant Rector

Rome

Johanna Schuh serves Notre Dame Rome as Assistant Rector at the Villa on the Celio, where she helps promote the students’ transformative study abroad experience in the Eternal City. As Assistant Rector Johanna is glad to foster safe and healthy living accommodation at the Villa where students can focus on their academic, cultural and spiritual growth.

Originally from Wisconsin in the United States, Johanna earned her Bachelor of Liberal Arts in 2021 from Wyoming Catholic College. In the mountains of Wyoming, she fell in love with Aristotle’s virtue ethics, white water kayaking and Dostoevsky’s ability to weave the theology of love into the snarls of human relationships. Before joining the Notre Dame community in Rome, Johanna taught Latin, history and literature at Thomas MacLaren School in Colorado Springs, Colorado, sharpening her passion for education. As much as she enjoys literature and linguistics, philosophy fascinates Johanna the most, prompting her to pursue her Licentiate degree at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas.
