Sevda Arslan

Program Director for Faculty Support and Partnerships

Sevda Arslan serves as the program director for faculty support and partnerships on the Global Innovation Team. In this new role, Sevda’s work focuses on supporting the growth of research and scholarship activities at Notre Dame’s global locations and deepening partnerships with international universities and relationships with funding sources to achieve the University’s strategic global goals. She also works with University Relations and across the division to manage effective stewardship reporting.

Before joining NDG, Sevda worked at the Institute for Scholarship in the Liberal Arts in the College of Arts & Letters where she oversaw the Institute’s internal funding programs for undergraduate and graduate students. Sevda earned her bachelors in European Studies from Maastricht University and her masters in Political Science from Western Michigan University. She also holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Notre Dame. As a linguistic and sociocultural anthropologist, she specialized in migration and religion in Germany for her dissertation work. Sevda has lived in Germany, the Netherlands, and Turkiye.

In her free time, Sevda likes to travel near and far, explore different outdoor activities, and learn new languages (currently Hindi and Spanish on Duolingo).
